Prophecy of DABARKADS :)
The sky was clear of clouds, the moon is shining brightly and its contours are clearly seen when I decided to take a walk outside my house and buy a drink in the nearby convenience store. When I pass-by the corner of the street, a lady gave me a leaflet of the newly opened BH Komodoro Specialties. I realized that the owner of this store is my friend, BH Majaducon; he is really fond of Komodoro making his face look like one. As I reached the store to buy some beers, a TV interview from the legendary graphic editor of X-Men 5 and Harry Potter 7, Roberto Mari Lee, reveals his history, how did he start as an artist and how did he made those films like they were real. Chewee earns a lot now since most production companies hire him to edit the computer graphics of their films. As I watched his interview, hearing his fluent English but still his Cebuano roots are still evident, I reminisced the first time we met in Tropicana Resort on the year 2008. I paid my purchase and went home directly.
When I was home, I opened some of beers I bought; I grabbed a magazine to read upon. An article that enthralled me was by a friend of mine, Shendrick Henares, and it was all about living life without regrets. He is now the editor-in-chief of that magazine I read. Another article written there was about a muscle building vitamin for men out there, I was flabbergasted when I saw Mike there posing for the supplement. The caption tells that Michael Rey Valencia now is a commercial model but part time only since he is still taking up his Masteral degree in Public Administration. I kept on thinking our early years, the ones we’re together and having some fun. While I am remembering, a phone call from Ferlyn distorted my attention. She is telling me that it’s my turn to watch and supervise Elokuence for she will be late for her show. Ferlyn Micaela Pareja is now a prominent ramp model/actress of the country, a celebrated lady that is the envy of all girls. She will have a live program with an exclusive interview with Kris Aquino. Elokuence by the way is our “restaurant slash bar” that we five friends put up. It is now the talk of the town due to its finesse aura yet conducive for everybody.
I got dressed and went to Elokuence immediately, when I arrived there, Fe instantly endorsed to me the current things needed to know. She will be fetch by his boyfriend or we can call him husband-to-be because marriage is the only thing lacking. Nathaniel Andrew Dagsaan is waiting outside the office where Fe and I were talking at. He is now a young executive officer of Apple, for his age he is quite a fast bloomer since he reached an executive position. Then, they left Elokuence. As I was seating in the office, I am dumbfounded turned hilariously laughing on the floor when I remembered their love story during college days. With those fights and sweet moments, still they rise up against the wind of adversity. From stupid cheating assholes, and insecure bitching ex’s to super duper mega extra ultra hyper sweet moments, we all have seen them encounter those. Not a moment we thought they’re not attuned. Inasmuch as they are damn PERFECT together. The chemistry of them is very noticeable and they become a head turner, even heart breakers, these are for those who keep on hoping they would break up.
There is no problem in the office so I decided to check the Essay Papers of my students. By the way, I am Joffrey Marquez, RN MAN. I am a Clinical Instructor in De La Salle University and at the same time a Chief Nurse in St. Luke’s Hospital. Ergo, I have fulfilled my dream to be a teacher. So, I was checking the essays. I read from one of my essays, a student wrote in his paper, “ana lang”. He may not know that I know Cebuano language, so he will receive a demerit for that. Reading that I instantly remember Al. It’s his expression definitely. So I called him up, ask him if he could come over after his class. Atty. Al-Musawwir Omal is a professor of Labor Laws in the University of Philippines and at the same time affiliated with the ACCRA Law Offices. So he said that he do have plans of coming over and he is actually on his way now to fetch Lloyd in his condo unit. After he would fetch Lloyd, they would directly proceed here in Elokuence. Lloyd Jason Gualvez, PHD is also a professor in the Ateneo de Manila University in the Chemistry Department at the same time a consultant of Wyeth.
After checking the essays of my students regarding their perception to pre-marital sex, I decided to take a look in my email. I received an email from Karen, she is still in South Korea right now. She decided to still stay there since his ex-boyfriend, Lee Min Ho, wants to make up for her. Karen Monte de Ramos is now a young businesswoman. She is a stockholder of a famous mall in the country and still be able to stay humble and simple. She states that he hates Min Ho since he gives her goose bumps when he does sweet things. I also received a message in Friendster from my long friend Shiera. The letter says she misses us and shares that she’ll be coming home for Christmas. Shiera Joy Magdaluyo is a modern heroine since she works as a Head Nurse Supervisor in Canada right now.
I was done with the Internet when a knock on the door caught my attention. I was surprised when I saw Shiela. Shiela May Biboso is in Australia for she works in PauShe Hotel as the Head Chef there. I was surprised because she told us that she will arrive the next day. Al and Lloyd followed her coming, so all of us were loud again. The hell we give, we own the place dude! Shiela told us that she saw Kent in Canberra; he mentioned that Kent Galapon is a Nurse in a traveling cruise and was able to travel a lot of countries.
We waited for Fe and Andy to come back in Elokuence, so that we will have another enjoying session together. When they arrived, we started to talk like the old days. Remembering our funny moments during the days when we’re still a little bit younger. It was quite a realization that time never moves backward, that we are so moving forward. It was 10 years after our graduation in college. As our age develops, so does our maturity. Al is still asking me about his wrinkles and how to remove them. The fear of everybody, aging, is inevitable but as long as Belo is there then there’s a way.
We talked a lot, mostly we discussed about the wedding of Fe and Andy. They had their plans already about it and they are so financially ready. Fe wants just a simple wedding with just few chosen people invited. They plan to have it by the next year so that Shiera, Karen and Maycee could come. After that, we all talked about the topic, “How did we become friends like this? How would our lives be without each other?” We chat, talked and chat until dawn like we wish that time would freeze just for us, just for now, just for a moment like this.
After the happy things we’ve talked and shouted, we all planned to travel to Boracay during May time. So reminisce about the Gumasa trip we made 12 years ago. The night rested and sunshine came out yet we are still energetic and unstoppable but we have to give it a break so we parted ways, Shiela stayed with me. We will see each other later for another happy event, but this day couldn’t be passed without writing it on my diary and dated April 25, 2019.
We pop up the cork and we cling on the glasses, we tossed for the future and drink for the past, it might not be easy but nevertheless this is one of the best days of our lives.

Prophecy
Hi, I am Joffrey Marquez, 27 years old and I am a Private Lawyer of the president of the Philippines. It has been 12 years after I’ve graduated high school at Notre Dame of Dadiangas University and I am wandering where are my old classmates are.
I bought my plane ticket to Gensan, and I started my search the next day. I went to Ma’am Hilda’s house but someone told me there that she went abroad with her family, because she is now a successful teacher and part-time karatista. After there, I went to the Office of the City Mayor and I was shocked to know that my classmate, Hope Aguilos, is the City’s Vice- Mayor. Well, of course, I talked to him about my life as a Lawyer, and I inserted the topic that I am looking for my other classmates. He said to me that I can take a look at the Voter’s List, and farewell was said I left and went to the local ComElec. After few hours I saw the Business Permit of the new mall in GenSan. And my friend Ana Marie Garcia owned it, the mall was named after Ana and her husband, also my friend, Robert Glenn Ledda, the mall’s name is RoAn Mall. It was dark and I went home.
The next day, I was walking on the sidewalk of the Church and I saw there is a double- wedding. I saw my friends got married. Marisse Wong (now a businesswoman) is marrying Areo Requieron (now an owner of a Bus Company), and Shane Noble (now a successful CPA) is marrying John Obed (now a founder of a school). As they walk outside the church, they have noticed me, and they waved their hands and I kiss goodbye. After I had visit the church I went directly to the famous Convention Hall owned by Micel Aragoncillo. As destiny brought me there, a fashion is occurring, and the renowned models are up next. I was really shocked to see that my friends Kyrie Eleison Baños and Keshia Sol are those mentioned as the renowned models. To be frank, they are really good and hot. They didn’t notice me, so I went to my table and talked to my seatmates. This time, I was almost to faint, when I heard that my seatmates are stockholders of the most famous CellPhone Networks in the country. To my right was Jhumar Seron, stockholder from SMART. To my left was Charlemagne Bermudez, a stockholder from GLOBE, beside King2 was Earl De Peralta from SUN CELLULAR and across me is Jan Caezar Maslog from the NTC. We talked and talked and drank and drank. We left with smiles in our faces.
The next day, I checked my e-mail at the OscaRest Internet Cafe; it is a famous Internet cafe. And no question who owns it. Mark Oscares with his brother Jay Oscares owned it. I checked my e-mail and I was shocked that my friend, Ferlyn Pareja is going to get married, with Arvin Magbanua. It was said there that they are ready emotionally and financially. Ferlyn works as a Host of any Endemol show and Arvin as Basketball Player of PBA. Their wedding is a fairy tale like wedding, so I must have something to wear. I went to the Pat Fashion Wardrobe Shop to have my outfit done. My classmate Patricia Sison, designed my outfit and she is really good at it, she took my measures and I can get it by the end of the 3rd week. While the cashier is issuing my receipt, I indulge myself in the magazines, and I saw my friends, Kent Dolar, Francis Fuster and Manuel Thoma posed for the MVP picture of Soccer; they’re professional players now. After the shop, I stopover the RoAn mall to buy some canned goods to my room. As I went to the grocery, I picked up the new product of GenSan, the Marimar Sardines, the company was owned by Marimar Castañeda. As I was walking on an aisle I bumped to a man who looked familiar to me, and when I got a full view of his face I recognized him already. He was Celmarc Buyante, he said that he manages a band he created, and just visited GenSan for some arrangements. He said that in his band Ivan Halasan was the lead guitar, Martin Somosot on the lead bass, Joel Escalada was on the piano. The lead singers were Gwen Feliprada and Harlene Colendres. The name of their group is The Mishaps. I left the mall and went home and sleep.
It was dawn, when I saw the local news that Alodine Del Rosario, a successful nurse, is going to migrate to Zimbabwe with his father, mother and the rest of her family. Spending their times together. On other news, a philanthropist gave the Bilaan Tribe, houses. Shocked, It was Neil Perez, whom donated house and lots to the Bilaans. After that news I went directly to the Hotel’s lounge and I saw the renowned female performers, The Femme Fatales would hold a stage play. I bought a VIP ticket and went ahead. When I am already there, it is the right time, because it would just start in a minute. I was shocked that the lead actress was Jennine Bagason, a friend of mine and there also was Carin Vilchez, Remilah Garcia and Christine Mamerto. They are the famous Femme Fatales. The title of the show is “How to Make Contact to a Man in Ten Days”. In the middle part of the play someone just called me up, and I went outside I was circumambulate who was the caller. It just said that we meet at the Star Mart in Lagao, near my Alma Matter. I just went and it was already 9 PM. When I went there I saw someone in white, I thought it was God, but it was not. I saw my old friend, It was Sheila Biboso, and she is now a StockHolder of the famous hotel abroad, the PauShe Hotel. She told me that if we could watch the coronation night of the Binibining Pilipinas at Manila, I said of course in reply. She stayed at the hotel where I am residing also. So we went home, and slept.
The next day, we bought our plane ticket at the airport and flew to Manila immediately. We went to the convention hall and watched the coronation. This is the shocking part, we saw our old friends got crowned. Binibining Pilipinas- International was contestant number 15, Erika Rae Burgos, she also got the Best in Swimsuit attire. Next, the Binibining Pilipinas- Earth is contestant number 05, Sheena Labos, she also got the Best in Question & Answer. The Binibining Pilipinas- International is contestant number 11, Jory Putalan, she didn’t get any special awards. And the champion, Binibining Pilipinas- Universe is none other that, Erika Florence Sabulao, she got the Photogenic Award, and the Friendship award. The past Binibining Pilipinas- Universe, Bernadette Ogalisco, passed the Crown to Erika Florence. The sash was awarded by one of the judges, Marianne Layog, now an owner of a Beauty Shop and Spa, nationwide. After the show, Sheila and I left, and we stayed on my condominium.
The next day, Sheila went back to GenSan because she is arranging her Land Title at their house. I applied on a gym near the Condo. The gym’s name sounds sissy, Kenty Gym, but the instructors were very good. As I was doing some workout, someone just pat me on my back, it was Kent Galapon, who owned the gym. We talked a lot and workout a lot. He said that he just got married last month, I didn’t ask if he married a girl or what. After there I went back to my condo, I just received my outfit from Patricia, and it was beautiful. As I went out of the condo, someone just snatched my laptop, I didn’t let the highwaymen get my laptop, so fight and fortunately I defeated him. I carried him through the police station and there I filed a case against the snatcher. Destiny’s choice, I saw there my old friend Nico Sanchez, was the General of the Police Station, inspecting something. We talked a lot about life and where are my other classmates, he told me that Harvie Saling, went to Africa to have some voluntary works as a doctor. After there Ferlyn called me and remind me that I should fetch Ruel at the Airport so that we can go to her wedding together. So after the Police Station, I went to the Airport. I fetch Ruel and we stayed at my condo. Ruel Cunanan stated his life to me now as a Professional Make-up artist of the Hollywood Stars. He shared his life and we slept.
The next day, Sheila arrived in Manila when he heard that Ruel is with me. We depart Philippines in the morning. At the plane, I’ve noticed this familiar lady, when I called her, it was Marjie Bobis, the head flight stewardess together with his assistant Anthony Lloveras, a steward. They say that they are happy with their work, because they can fly to Paris, London, many countries and US. They also mentioned that in the Cockpit, the pilot is our friend also Ryan Reyes, together with his co-pilot Mark Tantay and their trainee pilot Cyril Orge. After our talk, they continue servicing other passengers. It was late night when we arrived Los Angeles, California.
The next day, we found Al yelling at Merk Go, a Hollywood star because Merk was late again in his shooting. Well, Al Omal, was the manager of the Hollywood stars, like Britney Spares, Christian Aguilera, Mariah Carey-carey and many more. Al Omal was also a talk show host of the famous American show, The Al Show. That show is for brave people only, frank questions will face you, and Al is a very frank person. Our next stop was Lloyd’s Dance School. Lloyd Gualvez is now a dance guru of US. We walked and shop a gift for Ferlyn and Arvin’s wedding. The time is ticking and it is only minutes away from the wedding. We were early at the convention hall. When the bell started ringing, Ferlyn just walked in like a real princess in her dress. We didn’t allow any press to cover the wedding of Fe so that the sacrament would be holy. And the most awaited part, “you may now kiss the bride”, well, the two of them were very passionate for each one of them.
Time has been very fast, and when it is the reception time, I was going to eat my first bite then suddenly POOFF! I suddenly fell on my bed. It was just a dream. I hoped it was a reality.
